Wound Care & Hyperbaric Technologist
Assist in the daily operations of the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center, responsible for ensuring the overall quality of services provided and maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and quality control. Employees will be cross trained in both Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine roles, providing direct patient care related to both responsibilities
Rooming and moving patients to the wound care chair.
Unwrapping and wrapping the patient’s wounds.
Assist in cleaning and treatment of advanced wounds under the direct supervision of the Wound Care Nurse and the Wound Care Provider.
Provides Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in the mono-place hyperbaric chamber following established standards and practices.
Taking the patient’s vital signs and glucose measurements, knowing the parameters for normal versus abnormal ranges, and how to respond to any problems.
Completes treatments and procedures according to policies and procedures and age-specific standards, as prescribed or instructed by the Provider
Recognize any sign of a distressful or emergent situation during therapy and report immediately to the hyperbaric provider and clinic nurse manager
Maintains documentation and communication
Documents procedures and treatment in the patient’s medical record and other designated areas as appropriate
Communicates pertinent information to other health care workers verbally and/or in writing
Maintains working knowledge and responds to emergency procedures associated with HBOT according to hospital and departmental policies
Utilization and supervision of equipment and maintenance
Operates and maintains equipment according to policy and procedure
Completes daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance according to checklist and as scheduled
Cleans and inspects equipment after every treatment
Ensures a safe, orderly, and clean environment for patients, families, visitors, and personnel following company and hospital equipment policies
Current BLS certification required
1+ years of experience in a CNA, MA, or EMT (or similar) role in a clinical setting preferred
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA), and/or Emergency Medical Technologist (EMT) certification, or similar, Preferred.
Professional communication skills are a must. Ability to properly communicate with doctors, nurses, patients, hospital staff, and corporate officers
Must be able to adapt quickly to the fast-paced changes that can occur in the outpatient clinic setting
Must be a detail-oriented individual with excellent time management skills
Basic computer skills: Typing, email, etc. Ability to chart in an Electronic Medical record
